New Adventures!

Well again, it has been a while since I have posted. Today I am home, woke up with the infamous dizzy feeling, took meds went back to sleep, dizziness finally went away and now just battling the headache. Wishing I knew the cause, but at least full blown vertigo did not come to visit.

Anyway---I was able to actually meet the guy who has been working on my most recent canvas.

This picture does not do the canvas justice-the colors are so vibrant!! I love it! This canvas will be on display at the new Plaza Muse art gallery located on Central Avenue in Charlotte once it opens later this month. I am so excited. I can't wait to have my work on display beside professionals! Plaza Muse offered to carry my greeting cards as well in their gift shop area! This is so exciting but a little overwhleming!!

My next adventure is to plan an at home boutique party-basically a reason to get my friends and their friends together to shop for beautiful handmade gifts. My friend Heidi over at Stitched in Faith will also be joining me!!

Wow! It has been a while!

It's been a while, not that I have too many followers wondering "where in the world is Vicki"-LOL!!

Anyway, this might be the first time in at least over a month that I have stopped. Stopped long enough to sit down at the computer, alone in my house (well with the exception of Dexter) and with no where to be..yet. It is nice, I have missed this. We have turned into carnival workers of sorts. Jeff, my husband and his kettle corn adventures and my photograpy adventures. But it is tough. Hot and exhausting. But it is funny because I have actually started really enjoying my time with my husband. Time to be out in the public, meet new people, go new places, and people watch. ("Mullet" watch at the last event-oh my! Can't believe I just said that) Anyway!! It has been fun. Our baby plans have been put on hold for now, I am anxious but I know it will all work out, but as Father's Day approaches I can't help but think how great of a father he truly will make someday!!

But I can't let this blog go any further without saying that today is my best friend in the whole world's birthday!! Heidi and I have been friends for what really feels like our whole life! Really!! And today she is finally joining me in the big 3-0 club!! I can't imagine my life without her and don't want to!! I love her truly like a sister!! Please visit her blog and I promise you would love her just as much!! Resting in the Mystery

Happy Birthday Dear Friend!!

Sad, but on my new computer, I couldn't find any other pictures of us, but I know I have some in a box in the closet!! Love her!!

And finally-in honor of Father's Day, I have to at least mention my dad. We have had a unique relationship and until recent years, I really did not know my dad's love. He wasn't the "I love you" hugs and kisses type. Wasn't the way he was raised and wasn't the way he raised me. But when my "papaw John" passed away-my fathers father, my dad changed. I heard him say I love you shortly after that for the first time in my life. He is so gentle and kind and just a good man. I wish he had said it earlier and I wish I would have seen it earlier in life, but still glad I have had the chance. I can't wait to have a baby becuase I know my daddy will spoil them rotten!! I want that. I want to see more of that in him. My grandparents were just not nice, I will say it as nice as I can, so I want my future child/children to experience what I missed out on. I do love my daddy!!

Zip, Zero, Nada!

That was the total of my sales after sitting at a street festival from 7:45am until 6:00pm yesterday. Lesson learned-stick to "arts/crafts festival" other note to self-don't give up, this is one show, one festival that is now in the past and that will be marked off of my list for next year!

Moving on, in October there is a arts/crafts festival that has been around for 28 years that is only for arts/crafts handmade items. Not sure if I will do anything else until then, but definitely marking my calendar and getting my application in for it.

On another note, my husband has started his own Kettle Corn business (outside of his real job)-so now we are in search of all things in bulk-corn, corn oil, sugar, salt......tables, banners, tents........I think I have already been through all of this, oh that is because I have a few months ago for my photography business! WOW! Some times I think we are crazy, but if we are going to do-better to do it now I guess.

Wish us luck! AND if you hear of any arts/crafts festivals in North Carolina or need Kettle Corn at your next event-let me know!!

Mayfair 2011

Today I participated in my first Arts/Crafts festival called Mayfair in Charlotte NC (very close to my house actually). It went well, I heard a lot of comments and complimentary words about my work and that truly meant a lot to me. My friends and family (who are almost obligated) have always told me that my photography was beautiful but to hear complete strangers say it really made me feel like all of the hard work I have put in to getting ready over the past 3 weeks truly was worth it.

My Booth
Which by the way I got so many compliments on! Some said it was the best booth there! :)

Sweet Shot Tuesday

My husband and I have been getting up at 4:00 am.....yes AM to workout. Maybe I should rephrase that...he gets up and drags me out of bed and makes me go! But anyway, I have discovered that my husband is the strongest man alive! No really! Or at least the strongest man I know! When I am struggling to lift say 15 or 20 pounds he is lifting 120-130 pounds! It is insane!! My sweet shot was taken with my IPOD (so the quality is awful) when he wasn't looking-shhhh! don't tell him! But I am so proud of him and what he can do. Another thing I have realized is that he is a light switch and I am a dimmer! LOL Seriously! He is up and singing, dancing, making jokes, etc and I am barely awake! He goes full force all day everyday in anything he is doing and I have ups and downs! Anyway-maybe opposites attract! Here is my muscle man-my sweet shot Tuesday:
